Local Public Service Board

What is the Local Public Service Board?

The Local Public Service Board has overall responsibility for implementing the LAA. It is made up of the Council's Corporate Management Team and the chief officers from the key public sector organisations with responsibility for using public money in the borough. These include the police, primary care trust, hospitals trust, housing associations, Job Centre Plus and the Learning & Skills Council.

It meets quarterly and monitors performance against the targets in the LAA and makes decisions on how funding should be used to tackle issues of under performance and how local services can work better together to tackle local problems. Partnership bodies are being reviewed to take account of the changes which the LAA has introduced including the governance role of the Local Public Service Board.

The next LPSB meeting takes place on the 15th of May 2007. Funding for CVSN for 2nd and 3rd quarter of 2007/8 to be decided at this meeting. Update from your rep Ben Coles will be posted on this website shortly after.
