Community Calendar
Due to the increasing amount of meetings, events and training courses taking place across the sector the CVSN have produced a Community Calendar which is now available on our website. So if your organisation is planning any large scale meetings, training or events involving a range of community and/or voluntary organisations from Hammersmith & Fulham please inform us so we can add it to the Community Calendar as well as plan our activities around it to avoid overlap and duplication.
Third-Party Reporting Centres Through H&F BME–
An Alternative Way to Report Racial and Religious Harassment
Many people experience racial and religious harassment. This can be anything from being called a racist name to being treated badly by a service provider Racial and Religious Harassment is often very subtle and can be difficult to prove. As a result, race and faith hate crimes often go unreported, and racism is allowed to continue.
H&F BME is an independent charitable organisation. They work closely with over 90 Black and Minority Ethnic groups in the borough, and are mindful of the many barriers people face when considering reporting racial or religious harassment.
H&F BME now offer an alternative place where people can make these reports. We will take the details of the incident(s), and then pass them over to one or all of several organisations that can help. If sufferers of racial or religious harassment want their reports passed over to the police, we do this on their behalf. Victims can also choose to have their report handled by CALM Mediation, Victim Support, Housing Associations, the Racial Incidents Panel, The Forward Project or the Law Centre and 5 other Black and Minority Ethnic Groups.
H&F BME urges all sufferers of racial and religious harassment to report it rather than stay silent. No incident is too unimportant; all cases will be treated with the utmost seriousness.
