What is the Borough Partnership?

The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) is the overarching Partnership organisation in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The LSP has several elements, the Borough Partnership, which is the executive, the Public Services Forum, the Business Forum and the Community Network as well as the Borough's operational partnerships.

Its aims are:
~ To promote wellbeing by tackling discrimination, disadvantage and social inclusion in all forms.
~ To bring together all those with an interest in the Borough - residents, community and voluntary groups, public services, and businesses.
~ To ensure the widest possible participation and consultation in planning the future of the Borough and carrying out those plans.

The Community and Voluntary Sector Network have 6 representatives (3 voluntary and 3 community) on the Borough Partnership of Hammersmith & Fulham. These representatives were elected by the sector in October 2002.

Themed Borough Partnership Meetings - How you can get your voice heard!

The Borough Partnership meetings are moving towards holding themed meetings. This was suggested by the CVSN and agreed at the November 2004 Borough Partnership meeting. One of the objectives of the Borough Partnership is to ensure the widest possible participation and consultation in planning the future of the Borough and carrying out those plans. For all partners and the sectors they represent, it would mean being better equipped to participate in the discussions and having the opportunity to prepare a unified response. By all sectors being more prepared, the possibillity of the Borough Partnership creating partnerships to deal with some of the issues that arise would be increased, hence moving towards a more pro-active partnership.

The CVSN will hold open meetings before each Borough Partnership meeting for the community and voluntary sector to provide our representatives with their views, knowledge and expertise on the theme which will then be reported at the actual Borough Partnership meeting. So look here for the next theme and let the CVSN team know if you feel you could make a valuable contribution. All our members will be informed of the theme and open meeting in due time.
